RPA’s advocacy work is one of the most important ways we support Wisconsin rental property owners and housing providers. Our attorneys and advocacy team monitor proposed legislation and local ordinances, engage with policymakers, and communicate RPA’s position on issues that may impact our members and the rental housing industry.

RPA Responds to Milwaukee Rental Property Inspection Proposal

RPA Attorney Kirsten Pezewski submitted a letter to the City of Milwaukee regarding a proposed rental property inspection program in the 15th Aldermanic District. RPA raised concerns about compliance with Wisconsin law, inspection requirements, notice to affected property owners, and the standards used to designate rental property inspection districts.
RPA Responds to Milwaukee Short-Term Rental Ordinance

RPA Attorney Kirsten Pezewski submitted a letter to the City of Milwaukee Public Safety & Health Committee regarding proposed changes affecting short-term rentals. RPA raised concerns about owner/agent requirements, enforcement, incident reporting, and privacy.
RPA Addresses Milwaukee Illegal Dumping Ordinance

RPA Attorney Kirsten Pezewski submitted a letter to the City of Milwaukee Public Safety & Health Committee regarding proposed penalties and liability for illegal dumping. RPA raised concerns about rental property owners being held responsible for illegal dumping committed by others and the resulting costs to housing providers.
